Decision Services - Patients may face very different prognoses depending on their age, general health, diagnosis, genetic profile and other factors. The Decision Services group is at the forefront of research in the use of decision aids in cancer care to help patients clarify their values and weigh the risks and benefits of treatment choices. The Decision Services team conducts research on decision making in the context of patient-centic healthcare decisions. Medical Informatics - The medical informatics team works to design and implement innovative computing approaches to information problems in cancer care and research. The team has been instrumental in developing several core components used in the Center of Excellence.

Clinical Trials Matching - Many patients who could participate in clinical trials are not able to navigate the complex maze of information regarding available trials and the implications of participating in a trial. The clinical trials matching group, co-founded by a breast cancer patient, has the goal of making it easier for patients to find clinical trials relevant to their disease stage. The group has developed an innovative breast cancer trial matching system, BreastCancerTrials.org.
